‘Irony Right?’: Twitter Reacts to Warriors’ Draymond Green Suffering Groin Injury Scare vs Hornets
The Golden State Warriors have started off extremely well during the 2021-22 NBA season, with their record at 5-1. And now they are playing against the Charlotte Hornets, who haven’t had a bad start as well, with a 5-3 record in the Eastern Conference. At this point, the Warriors just can’t afford any hindrance to the momentum that they have gathered. Unfortunately, bad luck doesn’t wait for anyone and their worst nightmare just came true as Draymond Green looks like he has been badly injured.
Will the Warriors lose Draymond Green to injuries as well?
The Golden State Warriors have suffered quite a lot because of injury woes. After the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, they haven’t played a single game with their superstar Klay Thompson. Since then, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green have been trying to carry the load of the entire team on their backs.
After some spectacular performances from them in the last season, the Dubs were still unable to make the playoffs but there was a big relief. They finally showed a glimpse of the team that won three NBA championships in four years, despite Klay’s absence. And this season has only been better. They haven’t had such a great start in two years but Draymond Green’s injury could be their reason for another downfall.
As the Warriors and Charlotte Hornets play each other on November 3, 2021, the Warriors have kept their dominance intact for most of the game so far. However, tragedy struck when Green seemed to have badly injured his groin while blocking a layup from Hornets’ Gordon Hayward, who ended up hitting him with his knee.
Looking at this, fans have gone into a frenzy because a serious injury to Draymond could hurt their chances at a title, again. Even though Green returned to play, nobody can know how serious it might be until later.

Will they still win against the Charlotte Hornets?
Fortunately, the game looks like it will eventually end in the Warriors’ favor. Thanks to Jordan Poole’s unbelievable 29-point performance in just three quarters. After playing some stellar basketball in the preseason, Poole was given the opportunity to be a starter until Thompson returns.

And thankfully, he is doing justice to the responsibility being given to him. With Stephen Curry having an incredibly slow night, at least the Warriors know that have someone that they can rely on. So, even if Green’s injury turns out to be very serious, fans can hold on to the hope that Poole and Steph will make sure they survive until at least Klay’s arrival. However, only time will tell what Draymond’s condition is.
