Millie Mackintosh has revealed her plans for the birth of her second baby.

The former Made In Chelsea star has explained she will watch her own C-section, to witness the exact moment her child is born, after being ‘too nervous’ to do it for the birth of her first daughter Sienna, one.

In a lengthy caption, the reality star – who announced she was pregnant in June – explained she already knows her second baby will be born via C-section after it was recommended by her obstetrician as the safest option, following the birth of Sienna the same way 18 months ago.

However, in sharing her personal decision she’s also explained she’ll be ‘dropping the curtain’ to watch it all.

She explained in a post to her Instagram: ‘I am excited to undergo another abdominal birth. This time I am going to opt to drop the curtain so we can watch the baby being born.

‘Sienna was breech, and came out bottom first and I was too nervous to watch!’

In C-sections, surgical drapes are used to create a sterilised field for the operation, and, while it’s not clear the specifics around Millie’s ‘dropping’ of the curtain, clear drapes are becoming more popular as a means for parents to watch their babies enter the world. Dubbed ‘gentle C-sections’, in some hospitals opaque surgical drapes which are in place as the doctor makes incisions are lowered right before birth, with a clear one allowing parents to see what’s going on.

Millie added in her post she was ‘dreading the recovery’, especially now she has a toddler, but went on to share things that aided her the first time around, should any expectant parents be in the market for some tips.

She suggested a Pico Dressing, which is a plaster kept in place with a vacuum pack, keeping it tightly sealed to the skin to stop bacteria getting in, as well as having someone in charge of your pain relief, noting her husband Hugo Taylor ‘will be in charge’.

The star shared one important note: ‘Don’t forget to take something to help make you go!! I was fine in hospital but once I got home thought I was in the clear and it was a big mistake.. the pain killers really block you up so you need to take something to combat this.’

When it comes to moving around and going for a walk, Millie added she was ‘going to take it really slow; this time around, appealing to any other mothers who had C-sections for advice.

Earlier this year Millie revealed she and Hugo are having another daughter, sharing the gender reveal on social media, and sharing she was due ‘later this year’.
