“My Friend Is Flying”: Venus Williams in Awe With Grigor Dimitrov’s Game at Rolex Paris Masters 2021

30-year-old Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov has started his Rolex Paris Masters 2021 campaign on an impressive note. Although he took three sets to finish his first two rounds, he has stunned Paris fans with his impeccable tennis. What’s more, Dimitrov has also left the seven-time Grand Slam champion, Venus Williams, in wonderment with his game.

Reputably, the Bulgarian talent is one of the most charming and friendliest personalities on the tennis tour. Also, he shares a good rapport with both Venus and Serena Williams. Hence, it was not surprising when the elder Williams sister praised his good friend Dimitrov’s game in Paris Masters.

Earlier in 2020, both Venus and Grigor also did a live workout on Instagram. During the session, the Bulgarian flashed the tennis queen his abs. Besides, the Bulgarian even got Venus a bit jealous when he practiced with her younger sister, 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams.

So far, Dimitrov has outclassed notable talents Richard Gasquet and Karen Khachanov in Paris. What’s more interesting, the Bulgarian did not lose more than two games in the sets he has won.

Additionally, Dimitrov also pulled off a bagel in his latest match against Khachanov in the second round. For this, Venus Williams went ahead and praised the 30-year-old’s tennis on Instagram. She wrote, “My friend is flying.”

But from here on, the former World No.3 has a steeper path in Bercy. Hence, he would have to stick with his A-game throughout the tournament to go all the way.

On the other hand, Venus Williams, who hasn’t competed anywhere since Chicago Open in August, will continue to support Dimitrov in Paris. Notably, the Bulgarian is awaiting his first ATP title since the 2017 ATP Finals triumph.

Who will Dimitrov face next in Paris Masters 2021?

As per the draw, the Bulgarian star will meet Olympic gold medal winner Alexander Zverev in the third round. Hence, it will be a win that would boost Dimitrov’s confidence in his game immensely.

However, considering the German’s form this year, it won’t be a cakewalk for Dimitrov to win this match. But given their 2-1 head-to-head record, the Bulgarian now has the opportunity to level the terms.

Above all, it would be a high-powered and high-intensity match between the two. Hence, neither Venus Williams nor tennis fans would want to miss this one.

Who do you think will go through to the quarterfinals in Rolex Paris Masters 2021?
