WATCH: Daniil Medvedev Sends Salty Kisses to Disrespectful Crowd at Rolex Paris Masters 2021

The reigning US Open champion Daniil Medvedev started his Rolex Paris Masters 2021 campaign on a winning note. He defeated the Belarusian professional Ilya Ivaska in straight sets 7-5, 6-4. Afterward, as a celebration, Medvedev got back at the fans who tried to distract him during the match with some salty kisses directed to them.

Notably, the Russian World No.2 does not often celebrate after winning a match, which has become his trademark. However, whenever he does do it, he makes sure it’s unique. For instance, Medvedev pulled off a dead-fish celebration following his US Open victory and boosted his fan base immediately.

Daniil Medvedev showers sarcastic love to fans in Paris

Primarily, the match between Medvedev and Ivashka was quite intense. That is, the duo remained on each other’s toes throughout their 91 minutes encounter.

However, the 25-year-old Russian, who presented another flawless service mastery, had some opposition in the crowd, too. Elaboratively, some selected fans tried to wheel off Medvedev as he served against the Belarusian.

Since the match was under his control, the defending champion in Paris remained focused. But he most certainly did not forget about them.

Accordingly, as Medvedev won the match point, he turned to that group of fans and gave them sarcastic flying kisses. Indeed, it was one unique way to register a win in Paris Master 2021.

What’s more interesting, it is not the first time the Russian star has reacted with a gesture to such types of fans. Apparently, Medvedev has had a rich history in that department.

Hopefully, the 25-year-old will soon bestow some real love to his fans during the Rolex Paris Masters 1000 campaign. Only time will tell if Medvedev will celebrate wholeheartedly or not.

Who will Medvedev play next in the Rolex Paris Masters 2021?

According to the draw, Medvedev will now take on the young American talent Sebastian Korda for a place in the quarterfinals. Without any doubt, it is an intriguing matchup with expectations of some great tennis.

Most importantly, the Russian star has to better the run of Novak Djokovic in Paris to stop him from clinching the year-end World No.1 spot. But the Serbian World No.1 appears hungry for history again.

All in all, the Paris Masters has a lot at stake for both Medvedev and Djokovic, which means high-quality tennis for fans. Do you think the Russian will succeed in stopping the Serbinator?
