Why is Alexa flashing yellow?
You’ve got mail! If your Alexa is flashing yellow it means that you have a unread message in your inbox.
This may be a message in your Amazon inbox, perhaps from a seller with an update on your order or a notification from Amazon letting you know that your package has been delivered.
The best way to disable to flashing yellow light is to ask Alexa to read your messages to you.
Why is Alexa flashing green?
A flashing green light indicates that you have an incoming call.
If you pick up the call, the green light will spin.
The feature is all part of Alexa’s calling and messaging features, which you can use to call or send messages to your contacts.

What do the other Alexa colours mean?
Blue
That the device is listening to you.
When you talk to Alexa the light ring wakes up and flashes blue.
When you’re done asking a question, the blue light spins while Alexa processes what has been said and formulates an answer.
Other blue combinations
Solid blue with spinning cyan lights: The device is starting up.
Solid blue with cyan pointing in direction of person speaking: Alexa is busy processing your request.
Alternating solid blue and cyan: The device is responding.
Red

If you press the microphone button on the top of your Echo it will mute it.
While it is in that mode it won’t be able to listen or assist you.
Purple
If your Echo briefly flashes purple it means that Do Not Disturb has been enabled.
This is a feature that makes sure nobody can message or call at certain times.
