The series is back after a long time away (Picture: Netflix)

The third season of Narcos: Mexico is finally upon us, with fans quaint patiently for new episodes of the Netflix drama.

It was February 2020 when the last season arrived on the streaming platform, and the story is set to resume this month.

The sister show to hit drama Narcos has won over viewers over recent years, and there’s as much anticipation as ever this time around.

New episodes pick up after plaza bosses went against Felix (Diego Luna) and formed their own cartels, seemingly ending his plans to set up shop in the US.

But when is season three on Netflix? Here’s everything you need to know.

Season three is set to be the show’s final outing, consisting of 10 episodes.

As reported by Deadline, season three takes place in the 1990s and focuses on the war between the various factions which emerged following Gallardo’s incarceration.

‘As newly independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican kingpins emerge. But in this war, truth is the first casualty – and every arrest, murder and take-down only pushes real victory further away.’
