WATCH: Russell Westbrook Takes Frustration Out On Reporter After Embarrassing Lakers Defeat

The Lakers game against the Oklahoma City Thunder ended with a set of plays that would embarrass any Lakers fan. Moreover, watching their star players refuse to take responsibility or shrug off responsibility is not a pleasurable sight for fans. In the post game press-conference, Russell Westbrook had a heated discussion with a reporter who asked him about the game.

He even said to him “Don’t ask questions you dont want answers to”. Many fans believe that’s not an answer expected from a superstar who was clearly at fault.

Lakers faced an embarrassing defeat at the hands of the youngest team in the NBA. And for Oklahoma, the only two victories for them so far this season have come against the Lakers. And coincidentally, in both these games, Russell Westbrook, the former OKC superstar, was involved in controversies.

Earlier, it was about a late game dunk that turned into an ejection. And this time, it’s about a terrible choice of shot in the most crucial moment of the game.

What does this mean for Russell Westbrook and the Lakers?

The average age of the Lakers squad is 30 while the average of the Thunder is 24.1. It is hilarious but pertinent to note that the oldest team in the NBA has now twice been defeated by the youngest. Despite all experts backing this future Hall of Famers stacked Lakers roster to win it all. Even ESPN’s power index predicted Lakers to be the strongest from the Western Conference at least.

The game ended with a tussle on the court between Carmelo Anthony and Luguentz Dort. It seemingly distorted the Lakers’ focus as soon after that tussle, the Lakers offence just fell apart. Carmelo Anthony brought the game close, but Russell Westbrook tried to steal all the glory for himself. Even according to coach Frank Vogel, they could have taken a much better shot than what Russell did in the last play.

And instead of taking responsibility for the bad last minute choices like an unforced turnover in the last 30 seconds of the game, Westbrook lashed out at a reporter.
