UPDATE: Aston Martin Confirm Lance Stroll’s Health After Massive 12G Impact at Mexican GP

Lance Stroll brought out the first red flag of the Mexican GP weekend as he crashed his Aston Martin in the final corner. What looked like a massive crash for the Canadian soon brought out a sigh of relief when he got out of the car. Now, as both he and the car undergo checkups, the team gives its fans a much-needed update.

Aston Martin’s update read: “Lance sustained a 12g impact, has had precautionary checks, and all his vital signs and x-rays are normal.” The team added that Stroll passed the FIA checks and is fit for racing.

Although the driver would start at the back of the grid on Sunday, the crash totaled the green car. While it is nothing the Aston Martin engineers cant fix, it looks like a likely pitlane start for the driver.

Nonetheless, it’s a recommended good night’s sleep and some rest for recovery for both the car and its driver.

Lance Stroll starts Mexican GP at the back of the grid

It’s raining power unit penalties at the Mexican GP, as Stroll is one of five drivers incurring a penalty. Although George Russell gets a five-place grid penalty, Stroll accompanies Tsunoda, Norris, and Ocon at the back of the grid.

This makes Stroll’s Aston Martin one of two Mercedes PUs at the back. However, with a good car in hand, one that will hopefully be repaired in time, Stroll has a fighting chance for points in the Autodromo.
