Michael Chandler, Jason Miller and Other MMA Stars Predict Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington 2

The upcoming rematch between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington has got everyone excited. It is one of the biggest grudge matches in UFC history, and that makes it even bigger. Both will step into the octagon at UFC 268 and would look to get their hand raised.

The two men last fought at UFC 245, in what was an instant classic. The second chapter of the fight has got everyone excited. MMA fighters and boxers have had their say about the fight.

Michael Chandler, who will also be on the card, fighting Justin Gaethje, made his pick. He said, “Because of the fact that Colby really hurt his jaw, that Colby got finished, they discredit the fact that it was 2-2 going into that fifth round. I think Kamaru Usman is now the number 1 pound-for-pound guy in the world.”

“But I do think Colby Covington poses a lot of threats and poses a very tough test… I guarantee he (Usman) is focused, and he is prepared for this fight. I think Kamaru comes out with the win again.”

Former professional boxer Paulie Malignaggi didn’t pick a winner but said, “It’s a fight worth having. I think it’s a sellable fight… Usman’s at his best right now. Usman is one of the top overall fighters in MMA right now, not just at that weight.”

Dan Hooker and Luke Rockhold picked Usman to come out on top. Both of them believe Usman’s game has improved more than Covington’s. ‘The Hangman’ said, “His (Usman) striking is looking even better. So, I feel he’s going to put on an even more impressive performance.”

Jason Miller praised both the fighters and said, “Usman really stepped it up recently with that performance against Masvidal. He just went from like wrestler, to kind of can punch, to a scary striker too.”

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ vs. ‘Chaos‘ 1 was a fight for the ages. Both went after each other from the first minute, and the fight was even until the fifth round. However, in the last round, Usman put a stop to the fight and got a TKO win. Since then, Covington has been rallying for a rematch, as according to him, there were many questionable calls in the fight.

Since then, Covington has changed his gym, and is now training with MMA Masters. Usman has also started working with Trevor Wittman, who has helped him develop his striking. The UFC welterweight champion has looked better with each of passing fights, and would look to put an end to Covington early.
