The PGA Tour Champions is also well-known as a senior tour, for players aged 50 and above. And the final event of the season, the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, is all set to begin on November 11. Phoenix Country Club in Phoenix, Arizona is the host of this ultimate event. Meanwhile, after combining the 2020 and 2021 seasons, the PGA Tour champions is finally all set for a season championship.

Last year, even though there was a Charles Schwab Cup, a season champion was absent. Because of the pandemic, the schedule was shaken up, and hence they combined the 2020 and 2021 seasons. So let us have a look at the standings, format, and prize money for the same.

Charles Schwab Cup format and prize money

The Charles Schwab Cup playoffs are similar to the PGA Tour’s FedExCup playoffs. But there is a slight difference between the two. In the season champion in the FedExCup, the Tour Championship winner is the FedExCup champion, while in the Charles Schwab Cup playoffs, the winner of Charles Schwab Cup might not always be the season champion.

Moreover, the top 36 ranked players from the standings advance to Phoenix Country Club, which is a 72-hole event. However, there is no cut to the event, and all 36 players will go to the weekend.

Additionally, the prize money for the Charles Schwab Cup for the winner is $440,000 with total prize money of $2.5 million. Furthermore, the season champion will earn a $1 million annuity, which will be paid out over 10-years, and the second-place finisher will earn a $500,000 annuity.
