“I Think It Was a Bad Idea” – Dana White on the Canelo Fight Being Held on the Same Night as UFC 268

This weekend marked one of the most iconic events that ever went down in the history of mixed martial arts. UFC 268, took place on Saturday night at the historic Madison square garden and was sold out weeks in advance. The packed arena featured a total of 14 epic fights, with two championship titles on the line.

All thanks to UFC President Dana white, fans get to enjoy these delightful fights, on such a regular basis. This weekend wasn’t a big night only for MMA fans, but boxing fans as well. At the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, boxing legend Canelo Alvarez fought against Caleb Plant to become the world’s first undisputed super-middleweight champion.

In the recent press conference after UFC 268, the head honcho Dana White had a few thoughts to share about the Canelo fight happening on the same night as UFC 268.

Dana said,” I think they’re insane to go the same night as us. It literally doesn’t make sense.”He’s an a*shole (Stephen Espinoza). That doesn’t surprise me. But yeah, it was a bad idea. I think it was a bad idea, and they charged like 80 bucks for it. The thing was 80 dollars. But I like Canelo, I watched the fight. I bet on Canelo. That’s why I watched the fight.

Dana White was spotted watching the Canelo vs Plant fight while sitting ringside at Madison Square Garden. While he was watching it on his tv monitor, Rose Namajunas was fighting against Zhang Weili right in front of him.

White claimed that he bet a hundred thousand dollars on Canelo Alvarez winning the fight via knockout and won the bet, as that’s exactly what happened in the boxing match.
