Manchester United Make Huge Decision on Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Amidst Poor Performances
The Manchester United board continues to anger their fans as they decided to stick with Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer despite another lacklustre loss to Manchester City in the league. United could only watch as City passed the ball around for an entire half after two defensive errors gifted them two goals and the match.
The United fanbase has been calling for Ole’s removal for a long time now as calls of “Ole out” only grow louder. However, Sky Sports have reported that there are no plans to replace their manager even after Saturday’s humiliating defeat.
United are currently in 6th place in the Premier League with 17 points from 11 matches. However, they are closer to 12th place Leicester City with 15 points than 5th place Arsenal with 20. Even more worryingly, they have won just the one match of their last seven, and that was against a Tottenham Hotspur side that sacked their manager after a horrible display.
Cristiano Ronaldo is saving Ole’s job
Things are different in the UEFA Champions League, as Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals have saved Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United on several occasions.
The Portuguese forward has five goals in four UCL matches and scored the winners against Atalanta and Villareal. He also scored the equalizer in the return game against Atalanta, making sure that he is responsible for all seven of the club’s points in the UCL.
United are first in their UCL group with seven points, while Villareal trail behind them with seven points as well. However, things will get much harder than this, and Cristiano Ronaldo can only do so much on his own.
The managers who can replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Now that Spurs have appointed Antonio Conte, there are very few managers left for Manchester United. An obvious name is Zinedine Zidane, who has been linked with the job for a long time now. But reports from Zidane’s camp suggest that he’s not interested in taking over at United.

However, Leicester City’s manager, Brendan Rodgers, has also been a surprising candidate for the position. It’s yet to be seen if the former Liverpool manager will end up in the driver’s seat at Old Trafford.
