Roddy Ricch has vowed to donate his performance earnings to the families of the Astroworld festival victims.

At least eight attendees were killed at Travis Scott’s music event, with one victim as young as 14, and dozens injured after the crowd surged towards the stage, crushing fans.

Ricch, real name Rodrick Wayne Moore Jr, was one of the artists who performed at the live concert in Houston, Texas on Friday.

Though the 23-year-old’s set took place three hours before the fatal crowd surge, The Box hitmaker revealed he would be donating his net compensation from the festival.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend, he wrote: ‘Please have the families of those who we lost reach out to @shawnholiday.

‘I’ll [be] donating my net compensation to the families of this incident. #Pray4Houston.’

Holiday is a member of the Grammy winner’s management team, associated with Columbia Records.

It’s not known exactly how much Roddy earned for his 30-minute set.

It’s since been reported Scott and guest performer Drake are being sued for $1,000,000 (£741,000) over the ‘preventable’ stampede.

Meanwhile, family members of the victims have begun to publicly pay tribute to their loved ones who died while Scott performed his set at NRG Park.

Around 300 were treated for injuries at the festival after the crowd began to compress towards the stage when the Sicko Mode rapper was performing, emergency officials said.

The incident began around 9.15pm on Friday, according to Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña, who told reporters: ‘The crowd began to compress toward the front of the stage, and people began to panic.’
