Rylan Clark forced to explain after backlash from It Takes Two fans who spot he isn’t wearing a poppy

RYLAN Clark was forced to defend himself this evening after furious It Takes Two viewers spotted he wasn’t wearing a poppy.

The presenter, 33, started tonight’s show without one before it magically appeared on him about ten minutes later – and he later revealed it had fallen off while he was dancing.

Many watching the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off at home were not impressed and took to Twitter to question him.

One angry viewer wrote: “@bbcstrictly Can you tell me why Rylan is not wearing a Poppy surely privileged TV presenters should lead by example?”

Another added: “@StrictlyITT why has Rylan not got a poppy on ? #LestWeForget.”

While someone else Tweeted: “#ItTakesTwo Anyone know why Rylan isn’t wearing a poppy? Thinking faceThinking face.”

Following the show, Rylan decided to clear things up and told his followers: “FYI my poppy fell off just as we went on air tonight (I was dancing obvs) was put back on in the vt package x.”

The on-air drama comes after the newly single telly star enjoyed a wild night out on Saturday at London nightclub Freedom, where he was seen cosying up to a male friend and holding his face in his hands while dancing.

But the mystery man may not have lasted the night, as yesterday morning Rylan appeared to have regrets over his behaviour by posting the word “shame” on his Instagram Story.

He added: “To anyone I met last night . . . soz.”

Rylan split from his husband Dan Neal in June after tying the knot in 2015.
