Tony Khan Drops Update on Jon Moxley’s Condition in Alcohol Rehab Treatment

There is nothing better than having friends and family by one’s side as one recovers or is going through a difficult phase. In this instance, AEW Pro-Wrestler, Jon Moxley, is truly a gentleman with luck!

His employer and friend, Tony Khan, has been supporting him since the day Moxley enrolled himself in an inpatient alcohol rehabilitation program. Moreover, Moxley gave Khan the permission to explain to fans why he won’t be at Full Gear or competing inside the ring for a while.

Now, Tony Khan has provided an update about Moxley’s recovery process.

“It has been a pretty challenging week. And Jon is a really good friend of mine. So for many reasons. It’s been hard. But I’ve talked to Renee pretty much every day. And it seems like Jon’s doing better, which is great news for everybody. It’s great news for the fans, and especially for Jon and Renee, and for his friends of which I am one.” H/t WrestlingNews

Undoubtedly, Renee Paquette appreciates all the support and love Jon and she are receiving as they walk this phase of their lives. It is hoped that very soon Jon will be back in the ring, stronger than ever!

AEW had to find the perfect replacement for Jon Moxley

Prior to the news becoming public, Moxley was lined up to face Orange Cassidy in the semifinals of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. Had he participated and won, Moxley would face Daniel Bryan in the finals at Full Gear.

However, Moxley pulled out of the tournament after admitting himself to the rehabilitation program. As a result, Cassidy was left without an opponent. Maybe AEW could have given him the easy pass, and let him qualify for finals without a fight, but Tony Khan had other ideas.

He found a replacement who is as vicious as Jon Moxley, if not more. AEW booked Orange Cassidy against Miro!

While Cassidy tried his level best to overpower the beast, it didn’t work out in his favour. Miro crushed Cassidy with a toss and crash, securing his place in the final round at Full Gear.

There’s a good chance that Jon Moxley would have overpowered Orange Cassidy had he continued in the tournament. But, health comes first, and when he returns, his fans will be in the arena with loud cheers!
