Bray Wyatt working on Hollywood movie as star’s first post-WWE project is confirmed

We finally know what he’s got in the pipeline (Picture: WWE)

Bray Wyatt hasn’t been seen by WWE fans since April, but now his collaborator and friend Jason Baker has revealed the star’s next project.

The former world champion, who delighted fans with his character work over the years as both the leader of the Wyatt Family and both The Fiend and his kid’s entertainer alter ego, is taking his skills to Hollywood with a feature film in the pipeline after getting released by the company in July.

Callosum Studios owner and special makeup effects artist Jason exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘He’s a phenomenal collaborator, he’s become a really good friend, and we’re actually – you’re the first person that we’re publicly telling about. We’re starting a film at the end of the month.’

Baker – who released horror short Welcome To Red Room last week – grew close with Bray (real name Windham Rotunda) through his work with WWE, which started with him designing Triple H’s crown for WrestleMania 30 and eventually led him to the Firefly Fun House.

He revealed the upcoming film, which is yet to be officially announced with the title and plot details being kept under wraps, is set to start filming by the end of this month.

‘Two weeks to go, we’re filming in Tennessee,’ he said. ‘It’s a feature film and it’s something really new and different. I’d say probably the best way to describe it is Ichi the Killer meets Xanadu.’

Jason and Windham got people talking last month when the former shared a photo of them both on what appeared to be a Warner Bros. movie lot, and now he’s given some more details on what went down.

‘We had some meetings out there and things happened and things got moving forward, and now we’re going and shooting this feature film with him and the end of the month,’ he added.

However, fans shouldn’t hold their breath for the return of The Fiend or Bray Wyatt just yet, as Jason explained Windham is taking things in a ‘completely different direction’ with the project.

‘We’re not using any of that – we’re going in a completely different direction, a whole new thing,’ he teased. ‘It should be fun. Hopefully fans of horror and fans of Windham like it!’

Confirmation of the news comes after Fightful Select reported he had been fielding offers from Hollywood – and now we know what’s in the pipeline.

Besides the collaboration with Windham, Jason is keeping busy with other projects, including his work with Blumhouse on upcoming movie The Black Phone, and Welcome to Red Room.

‘We get to chop somebody up with a chainsaw, filet their back and dig their eyeball out with a pencil,’ he said of the latter, which allowed him to reconnect with his roots.

‘We just shot it here in our studio. We just paid everybody in pizza and just had that old mindset. It wasn’t stressful. It wasn’t anything like that.’
