And Chandler was left with several cuts to his face following the lightweight barnburner, which he lost via unanimous decision.

The Missouri mauler went on Instagram Live on his way to the hospital but used an alien filter to try to hide the war wounds given to him by Gaethje.

But seconds before the filter kicked in, Chandler ended up streaming his disfigured face to his legion of followers.

He said: “Fudge. I can’t release… Oh no, god… I’m trying not to release what my face looks like.

“So I look superhuman to you guys.

“So instead I’m just going to do an ambulance, I mean an alien in an ambulance vid. I’m here with Logan.

“My other alien friend. I hope you guys enjoyed that. I appreciate you guys.”

Chandler further reflected on his Fight of the Night with The Highlight on Instagram, writing: “We made some questionable decisions in the last one, but we had a blast!”

“What a great camp we had at Sanford MMA. Huge thank you to my coaches and training partners.

“So happy to be home with Brie Chandler and Hapman.

“To the fans: I appreciate your guys’ support on this journey.

“The best is yet to come! See you at the top!”

Defeat to Gaethje was Chandler’s second on the bounce, with the first coming at the hands of lightweight champion Charles Oliveira.

Iron has set his sights on a showdown with former 155lb king Conor McGregor, whom he called out on Monday.

McGregor, who is still recovering from a broken leg, responded to Chandler’s call for a 2022 showdown by saying: “I’m down at some stage for sure.

“Great fight the other night Mike, congrats.”

Chandler replied: “Thank you sir. It would be my pleasure. See you soon.”
