WATCH: James Harden Celebrates After Receiving Rare Foul Call

The NBA’s change of rules hit a lot of bumps along the way. While fans expected fewer foul calls, the referees seemed to go overboard and ignore some genuine fouls too. One of the victims of this has been James Harden of the Brooklyn Nets. Earlier, The Beard would get to the foul line multiple times in a game and this ruling has definitely affected that.

The league introduced the rule to not give fouls if the attacker forces himself on a defender. This sure has made basketball more fun with the game having much fewer free throws. But with the increasingly physical game, players have raised complaints about not receiving fouls. Notably, there has been a big change in James Harden’s game because of this.

In fact, the Beard’s attempts from the foul line have gone down big time as well. Hence, when Harden recently got the call, he couldn’t help but celebrate.

James Harden made the most of his personal win

In the Q2 of game between the Bulls and the Nets, Harden drove to the rim. While attacking, a defender put his hands on him. Unlike the other times, Harden got the foul and successfully put the ball in the basket. However, his reaction after the foul had everyone laughing.

The 9x All-Star pointed to the sky as it looked like he was thanking the Lord. Interestingly, even the Brooklyn Nets joined in on celebrating as well. And it is understandable as Harden has barely seen the foul line this season. His attempts have dropped from 7.3 to 4.8.

Many believe this change has affected his performance, as he isn’t producing the points. But the star guard is still recovering from an injury and getting into his rhythm. While he may not be at his offensive best, his playmaking is doing great things for the Nets. Dishing almost 9 assists per game, he is leading the Nets as their point guard while putting up 18 average points as well.

Harden is slowly getting back into his offense coming off a 28 point performance in the last game while Kevin Durant is taking the majority of scoring load. This is how the Nets are winning even without Kyrie Irving.
