EA Give Encouraging Update on New Fight Night Title Amidst UFC Focus

The critically acclaimed Electronic Arts franchise, Fight Night, could finally return to the world of aging with a new title. Even though EA has been primarily focusing on the next installment for its UFC games, development sources of media houses claim the title has now been confirmed.

This exhilarating news comes as a surprise to many fans who have been demanding a new game for ages. Moreover, the EA has already started working on the apparent title.

So, what and when do fans expect to hear from EA?

EA: Fight Night’s resurgence?

The original game, Fight Night 2004, as the name suggests, launched in 2004 on the legacy consoles, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It was then followed by four highly rated titles, with the latest one, Fight Night Champion, releasing in 2011.

Now, 10 years after the release of a mainline title, VGC‘s recent reports suggest EA Sports began working on the new Fight Night game earlier than fans thought. However, it’ll be a while before we see any concrete footage or anything of that sort.

UFC 5 to take center stage

EA plans to make the development of UFC 5 its foremost priority. The title is scheduled for 2023 as per the reports. To deliver the best to the fans, EA has halted the production of the next Fight Night game.

And to clarify their plans, Electronic Arts, highlighting key factors that influenced their decision, said, “We’re very excited about UFC 5 and… we want to eliminate the split focus that several members of our leadership team have had over the past while so we can solely focus on delivering migration and UFC 5 at high quality,”.

EA’s decision is justifiable since UFC 4 has been a well-accepted game amongst combat sports fans. It also received a major update recently which welcomed some legendary fighters such as Khabib Nurmagomedov, Anderson Silva, and more before their headline event UFC 268.

As of now, there hasn’t been any official word from the devs. And it could be a while before fans hear anything from EA themselves, since they would prefer to avoid the possibility of a Fight Night game affecting the sales of their successful franchise’s new title.
