Eddie Hearn Reveals Plans for Canelo Alvarez’s UK Appearance, Names 3 Potential Opponents

Canelo Alvarez hammered Caleb Plant in his last outing to become the maiden undisputed super-middleweight champ. He put on a sensational performance in this fight and overall; he was the one who dictated the pace of this bout. That said, Alvarez, the favorite, won this fight fair and square via a T/KO in round 11.

Canelo now holds all the super-middleweight belts and the next big question is, what’s next for him?

Recently, his ex-promoter, Eddie Hearn, spoke to iFL TV about Alvarez’s next possible strides and title defense options.

He said, “Well, you got John Ryder, his mandatory at 168. For David Morrell, he is a guy that obviously could fight for the championship as well. Chris Eubank with obviously different network but who knows? He [Canelo Alvarez] definitely wants to fight, not just in the UK. But around the world.

“And when it goes back to what is left to achieve after you have done that and you have become undisputed, and the answer is to do stuff like that. I am sure he wants to fight in the Asia, in the middle east in Europe, in England.”

Alvarez is in a magnificent spot to face anyone and everyone in the super-middleweight division.

Also, he has the option to notch up in a weight class or remain at this landscape and defend his titles. However, nothing official has arrived from Canelo’s team regarding his next title defense or more.

When will Canelo Alvarez fight again?

Canelo, right after his sensational win over ‘Sweethands’ asserted that he will come back by May 2022 as his body needs rest.

Needless to say, Alvarez, over the past 11 months, was one of the busiest boxers, who entered the boxing ring four times.

Also, all of his fights were high stake contests, and the Mexican star emerged victorious in all of those bouts. That said, he unquestionably deserves some time off the ring. Once he’s back, it’ll be interesting to see where he faces his next opponent.
