Fan-favorite NASCAR Driver Set to Lose His 2022 Seat Amid Front Row Motorsports’ Latest Development
The 2021 season is finally over, so teams can now focus on the upcoming season. According to some reports, there seems to be some activity in the Front Row Motorsports camp. Apparently, the team has plans to field two Cup cars next year and there will be a driver restructuring.
To be precise, the outfit has decided to part ways with Anthony Alfredo for the new season. However, Michael McDowell is expected to keep his seat, so the hunt is on for his new teammate.
This year, the FRM team wrapped up a historical year, which included a Michael McDowell Daytona 500 win. In addition to that, the team enjoyed a Camping World Truck Series courtesy of Todd Gilliland.
Aside from those two triumphs, the organization has turned in respectable performances. To be precise, they have racked up a few top-10 finishes ever in the Cup Series and Truck Series. McDowell amassed five top-10 and two top-five results for his #34 team, ending the year in 16th place.
The Front Row Motorsports team is happy with its 2021 campaign
FRM’s Jerry Freeze said, “We are very pleased with the progress that both our programs made on the track this season. We feel our organization took another step in being more competitive and giving more value to our partners. We still need more consistency, but we can’t take anything away from the success and hard work from the organization this year. We’re very proud of that effort.”

Now, the outfit will continue to field the #34 and #38 cars on the Cup grid in 2022. Meanwhile, they will also assess their Truck Series performance and wonder about the future. Finally, poor old Anthony Alfredo will be forced to explore other opportunities. In the mean time, driver and partner announcements will come soon, as they focus on the Next Gen Mustangs.
