Good Morning Britain viewers call for Judge Rinder to be a permanent host after impressive first show

Rob Rinder is already a firm favourite with GMB viewers (Picture: ITV)

Viewers of Good Morning Britain were so impressed with Judge Rob Rinder’s first show that they want him to become a permanent fixture on the programme.

The TV star and criminal barrister, 43, had stepped in for Richard Madeley alongside Susanna Reid on Wednesday’s show.

Rob could not contain his excitement at hosting the flagship show with Susanna, and the morning kicked off with them sharing an anecdote of times they have hung out before.

The pair revealed they had actually been on Tinie Tempah’s guest list to see him live in the past – but almost didn’t get in.

Susanna revealed that they almost got turned away at the front of the queue until she produced proof the man himself had invited them.

Rob also name-dropped that he had once been on a train with A-lister George Clooney and had hung out with his wife, Amal.

The sweet moments continued as Rob praised footballer Josh Cavallo for coming out as the first gay footballer in a top flight club, thanking him for allowing others to also speak out.

He also wasn’t afraid to hide his joy at speaking to legends Frank Bruno and Jason Donovan who were guests on the show.

‘Be afraid, be very afraid.’@RobbieRinder is in the hot seat and he’s ready 👏

As well as the light-hearted moments, Rob also voiced strong opinions on the more serious topics, tearing into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their comments in recent interviews.

He said of Harry’s complaint that the head of Twitter did not respond to his warning ahead of the Capitol riots: ‘Prince Harry! What? I don’t understand at all.

‘I mean Prince Harry, with the greatest respect in the world, what qualifies him more than anyone else to say “as a politically qualified person, I believe there’s going to be a riot.”
