“It Reminded Me of When Kobe Bryant Was Here”- Chairman of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Gives His Thoughts on Hosting Khabib Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov is undoubtedly one of the most influential personalities that the mixed martial arts world has ever seen. Although he has accomplished so much in his life, his behavior and attitude is so humble.

‘The Eagle’ is one of the most disciplined and hardworking fighters in the world. Ever since he was a child, his father kept him busy and trained him to become the fighter he is today. Many consider Khabib to be the best fighter that ever stepped inside an octagon. 

Recently, Khabib Nurmagomedov and his friend Clarence Seedorf, a legendary footballer, started their own enterprise in Dubai. The duo launched the Seedorf Khabib Performance Club in Dubai. The club aims at revolutionizing football training and combining it with mixed martial arts (MMA).

Headquartered in DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodity Centre) the company aims at branching out and starting more clubs later on. Recently, Khabib and Clarence Seedorf were at the opening ceremony of their club at DMCC. The president of DMCC shared his thoughts on having ‘The Eagle’ in their presence in Dubai. 

He said, “I mentioned it. It reminded me of when Kobe Bryant was here. The only difference is we were a lot smaller than.”

“This is just taking to the next level this is making sure kids don’t miss out on these opportunities get their 10,000 hours and whatever they want to perform and whether it’s this type of sport but it also creates discipline it creates appreciation at a very young age why not? Why wouldn’t I get advice from people who have won championships in some of the most difficult competitive sports.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov and his passion for football

Apart from being one of the best martial artists in the world, Khabib Nurmagomedov is also very passionate about football. Many times we have seen ‘The Eagle’ watching football games and also meeting with many famous footballers such as Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo.

There were also rumors about Khabib changing his career path and becoming a professional footballer in the past. While that may not happen, he can hope to tap into his interest in that game and impart valuable lessons to young children in collaboration with Seedorf.
