Emma Raducanu certainly took everyone’s breath away after winning her maiden Grand Slam at US Open 2021. However, she was unable to continue her dream form after US Open, as she lost in the opening round of the Indian Wells. Just recently, former World No. 1, Justine Henin expressed her viewpoints on the potential danger to Emma Raducanu.

She also talked about managing sponsors as well as press conferences after winning so much at just 18 years of age. However, Henin said the most essential thing is to stay consistent in the sport.

Just recently, the seven-time Grand Slam champion, Justin Henin, conveyed her opinions on the dangers Emma Raducanu might face ahead of the next Grand Slam. She started the talking by saying,I don’t know Emma Raducanu, we discover her during the US Open, and then you read through the press.”

“You hear a little bit about her history, her development. And it always seems surprising when someone makes big changes straight after winning a big title. And yet, we don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes.”

On speaking about her dangers, she said, ” Today, I would like to say, it is potentially one of the greatest dangers for a player’s career. The image in our lives is becoming more and more important. And so, it is true that, in the end, managing this image is a bit of an obstacle on sporting performance because it takes a lot of energy because there are earnings of the sponsors. You obviously have to play the game of the press and that is quite normal.”

Henin’s wise words

Lastly, Justine Henin told the young players to stay focused and be consistent in the sport. She quoted, ” But in the end, if the main objective is to remain successful in sport, how do you balance and manage that? It’s a challenge today I think that all the players, some of them have a lot of experience.”
