Tyson Fury Is Looking to Retire After Beating Deontay Wilder, Will We Ever See AJ-Fury?

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury silenced his critics with a successful return to action. ‘The Gypsy King’ has walked through a vicious weight class and has poleaxed the best in it. Although he has yet to test himself against several viable opponents, Fury has already done enough to call it a day.

Following a career-defining trilogy victory against Wilder, the WBC champion shall go into a long layoff. However, he has expressed mixed thoughts over his return.

Meanwhile, Tyson Fury’s father John Fury recently sat down with BT Sport and shared several views on his son’s future.

He said, “He’ll have a good hard-earned rest now and what he wants to do is up to him. I said retire, he’s won everything, he’s got no more to prove. He’s got millions in the bank, secure for life. He’s his own man, he’ll do what he wants to do.” (H/T:- Michael Benson)

This clearly raises questions regarding a potential fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. The boxing fraternity had dreamed about the clash for several years. But after Joshua’s second pro loss to Usyk and Fury‘s recent thoughts about retirement, we may miss out on the heavyweight affair.

Tyson Fury can end his career soon

After returning from a long lay-off, Tyson Fury displayed his best version. Now, he has his eyes on the interim titleholder, Dillian Whyte. ‘The Body Snatcher’ has been calling out Fury for years.

As the title race puts them near each other, Tyson Fury wants to have a piece of ‘The Body Snatcher’. Fury’s cousin Andy Lee sat with talkSPORT and explained a major portion of his interaction with ‘The Gypsy King’.

Lee said, “I said, ‘Do you retire?’ He said, ‘I’m thinking that way.’ And then he said, ‘On the other hand, what else am I going to do with my life?’ He likes the Dillian Whyte fight. That’s what he’s talking about to me, so I can see that being next.”

All these factors dismiss the chances of AJ-Fury, that is, unless Joshua regains his titles against Oleksandr Usyk. And on failing for the second time against Usyk, AJ can kook to hang his own gloves, citing no possibilities of a scrap against ‘The Gypsy King’.
