Is Phil Mickelson competing in the Charles Schwab Cup 2021?

The PGA Tour Champions has got more viewership and attention this season because of Phil Mickelson. The 51-year-old is playing in his first season and has been impressive with 3-wins so far. He made his debut on the PGA Tour Champions just after winning the 2021 PGA Championship in May.

Meanwhile, only the top 36 ranked players from the standings get qualified for the ultimate Charles Schwab Cup. And thankfully, Phil Mickelson managed to get into this penultimate event, but unfortunately, Phil isn’t in contention as he currently ranks 29th and has few to no chances of winning the season-end championship.

However, he still can win the Charles Schwab Cup and improve his standings before the season ends. Meanwhile, this is a 72-hole event played at Phoenix Country Club. But there is no cut to this event, and all the 36 ranked players will make it to the weekend.

Additionally, the prize money for the winner of the Charles Schwab Cup is $2.5 million. The season champion will earn a $1 million annuity, which will be paid out over-10 years.

Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson will tee off at 10:50 a.m. ET on Thursday along with fellow American Glen Day. So what do you think? Will Phil end the Champions Tour season on a high note? Do let us know in the comment section.
