Miami Heat Veteran Defends Nikola Jokic Following Fight Against Markieff Morris

Reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic continues to play at a top level this season as well. But he is set to miss the next encounter against the Indiana Pacers. This is because of his ugly incident with Markieff Morris against the Miami Heat. The Joker received a one game suspension for his actions. However, a Heat player believes he isn’t bad.

Jokic is one of the best big men in the league. By far the best passing big man in NBA history, he continues to grow after his MVP season. Even against the Miami Heat, he went head on against Jimmy Butler. Joker finished the game with 25 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Despite this performance, his shove on Markieff is taking more notice.

Udonis Haslem loves Nikola Jokic

A few days after the incident, Haslem spoke about it and supported the Joker. He said that he doesn’t feel like Jokic was trying to hurt anyone. Furthermore, he also believes Jokic isn’t a bad person, and it was just emotions that got the best of him that night against Morris.

Haslem said: “Looking at it a day or two later, I wish it wouldn’t have gone down the way it went down. But I don’t think he’s a bad guy, nor do I think he’s a dirty player. I’m also a guy who has definitely let emotions get the best of me sometimes. But I never hit nobody in the back, and I think that’s where it got a little murky. But I don’t think he’s a bad guy, and I don’t think he meant to hurt anybody. We don’t hold grudges, so it’s time to move on.”

With the whole incident, it did paint Jokic in the bad light. However, immediately after the incident. The Joker admitted he shouldn’t have reacted that. He knows what he did was not nice, and he didn’t mean to cause any harm. He said all he wanted to was protect himself, but in the moment he reacted too harshly.
