NBA Fans Rip Kevin Garnett For Disrespecting “Lil Homie” LeBron James in Bold Michael Jordan Comparison

The coincidence was absolutely uncanny. Michael Jordan had just made his retirement official, and it was then that LeBron James entered the NBA. And it was at that moment, the GOAT debate had already begun to make rounds.

A lot of the praise that Bron has gotten over the years has something to do with the way he took over the post-Jordan era. However, in his most recent interview with the GQ, some of the words that he used for Bron did not sit well with fans.

Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett had an illustrious 21-year career in the NBA as well. And it was while playing as part of the Boston Celtics, he developed a preconceived notion of the Lakers. As we all know, the two organizations have one of the most brutal rivalries in the history of the league. So, when he had to talk about Michael Jordan and LeBron James, his opinion of Bron could have been slightly biased, at least that’s what fans assumed too.

When asked about the difference between these two legends, Garnett said, “It’s a different level of respect. Michael Jordan I looked at as fucking God. And I thought he was my version of what basketball looked like.”

“And with LeBron, it was more like the little homie. Here’s the little homie growing up, and man, little homie is getting better than everybody! God damn!… I definitely talked some shit to him. I’ve definitely said some crazy shit to him. He’s definitely said some crazy shit back to me,” he admitted.

However, the “little homie” comment stirred up some heart for KG. The Lakers superstar’s fans instantly showed their disapproval, of what they thought was disrespectful.

LeBron dunked on Kevin Garnett so hard it had Marv Albert saying “LEBRON JAMES WITH NO REGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE.”

Even though King James and Garnett have had some bad blood, as he already mentioned, he still could help but praise him for all that he has accomplished so far. Especially the way that he has been able to take care of the league after Jordan’s exit.

“You’ve gotta have that in you to be able to have those shoulders to carry it,” he stated. “No man is perfect in this shit, and there ain’t no telltale book on how to do this shit. He’s done a great fucking job. I just felt like it was only right to give him that respect.”

The 45-year-old Celtics legend has spoken. And he isn’t wrong at all. Despite all the pressure that he came into the NBA with, it could never break the L-train’s spirit. This clearly shows that Garnett didn’t mean any offense by that comment and he also just really wants Bron to get more credit than he already deserves.
