The Chase’s Jenny Ryan has been having a lot of fun on social media, after posting a picture in response to gossip about the existence a ‘bitter feud’ between stars of the show.

It’s one of the longest running – and most frequently denied – rumours in telly, and now Jenny has come out once again to refute claims that the expert quizzers don’t get on behind the scenes.

Jenny shared a message for viewers and posted a picture of the five other chasers – Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha and Darragh Ennis – spending some quality time together.

‘We’re having another “bitter feud” backstage (© the tabloids),’ she wrote, captioning the selfie.

‘As you can see the six of us can hardly bear to be in the same room. #TheChase.’

It’s not the first time that Jenny has spoken about the rumours of discontent among the stars of the show – and we imagine it won’t be the last.

Last year, she appeared on This Morning and discussed what some viewers deemed to be a ‘dirty look’ shared between her and Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha.

She said: ‘It’s a tricky situation. People were actually commenting on the show last night that one of the other Chasers gave me a dirty look. What they class to be a dirty look, because I got a question wrong.’

Jenny added: ‘Actually, it’s more about who is going to sacrifice and guess on a question when nobody seems to know the answer.

‘We’re trying to read each other’s minds and we just want to operate as efficiently as we can as a team. Sometimes we get in each other’s way, which is when it does get a little bit… There is a bit of a postmortem when that happens!’

It comes after a former contestant on The Chase spoke about his experiences behind the scenes, warning future players to be careful what they say because of the editing on the show.

The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
