“Being a Boss”: Elina Svitolina Details Real Reason For Parting Ways With Former Coach
Former World No.3 Elina Svitolina recently parted ways with her coach, Andrew Bettles. The two worked together for around five years and even won many laurels on the WTA Tour.
Bettles started as the assistant coach of Svitolina and then took over the job of her head coach. Interestingly, the Ukrainian player won five titles along with him since 2017 and gained prominence.

In a recent interview, Svitolina highlighted that she ended her ties with former coach, Andrew Bettles, on a good note. She mentioned that since the British coach could not add anything new to her plans; it was the right thing to do.

“We finished our cooperation with Andrew Bettles in good relations. Its the case when the collaboration reaches its logical end and nothing new can be added. Once we started discussing plans for the coming season it became obvious that something had to be changed,” said Svitolina in the interview.

Svitolina reveals that it was her who ended her partnership with Bettles
In the same interview, the Ukrainian player disclosed that it was her decision to part ways with Bettles. She stated that it was a tough decision for her since the two had worked together for five long years.

“Being a boss (laughing). It was me who suggested ending our cooperation. It was quite tough for me as we’ve spent 5 years together and its quite much. I thoroughly choose the members of my team. I do not hurry and await a good candidacy who will suit me and help me fulfil all the objectives,” added the former World No.3 player.
Elina Svitolina has not announced the name of her new coach right now. She explained that she is not in a hurry and will take the decision patiently after examining several factors. Will she be able to win her maiden Grand Slam title with her new coach next year?
