Emma Raducanu Reflects on the New Addition to Her Team After a Series of Losses

British tennis player Emma Raducanu has been the marquee player from the women’s section to grab headlines. She created history by winning the US Open 2021. However, she parted ways with her coach Andrew Richardson recently, which did raise quite a few eyebrows. 

Well, there has been a positive development in the Emma Raducanu camp. She has appointed a new coach in Torben Beltz who will guide her from the 2022 season onwards. 

On her new appointment, she stated, “You guys cracked it. It’s obviously a great privilege to be working with such an experienced coach. I’m definitely very excited to work with him throughout the pre-season and into next year so things are looking up and it’s a very, very positive feeling, very excited about all the work that is to come.”

Emma Raducanu eager to create an impact

Raducanu was glad about the selection of Torben as he has coached German player Angelique Kerber. During their spell, he guided her to two Grand Slam titles and the British teenager is optimistic about winning more honors in the game.

The 18-year-old added, “He brings a lot of experience. He’s obviously worked with Kerber who is such a great player and has done extremely well and won three Slams and I think that experience definitely helps with someone as inexperienced as me so he can help guide me through, which I feel really confident about.”

“Also, he’s a really positive, cheerful guy who brings great energy to the team so I think that’s also important when you’re traveling on the road for quite a long time on the tour.”

Reflecting on the youngster’s season, she came to the second round of the Wimbledon Championships, which was a great result for the teenager. After that, she created history by winning the US Open in her first appearance. We wish her the very best for the upcoming season.
