“They Took My Facebook Away” – Justin Gaethje Reveals He Feels Bad for Not Engaging With Fans

Justin Gaethje is feeling amazing and is on Cloud 9 after his win over Michael Chandler in UFC 268. It was a brutal war in which both the fighters put up a spectacular show for their fans.

On November 6, it seemed as though ‘Iron and ‘The Highlight’ had entered the octagon with the intention of knocking out the other fighter. Spectators loved their bout because their dedication and hard work were clearly visible.

In a recent interview, Gaethje spoke about all the love that has been pouring in and how much he appreciates it.

While speaking to Brett Okamoto, Gaethje said, “I read all the comments on the internet like I’m a weird dude. You know and I really appreciate all the like, the support but I can’t give, give it back because because I am so, you know, focused.”

He continued, “And it sounds like a terrible excuse, like I’m too busy. Like ‘What are you busy doing?’ Like ‘I’m busy doing absolutely nothing’…So, I feel bad that I don’t engage.”

Gaethje further said, “Facebook! They took my Facebook away and Facebook was my only connection to home. And that’s where I would get to see how happy my town is from my success, or the support I get from the, you know, from being defeated.”

Well, Gaethje surely knows that the entire MMA community all over the world is proud of his recent performance. His fans hope he keeps up his great work and soon gets a title shot.

Can Justin Gaethje secure a title shot following his UFC 268 win?

In May 2020, Gaethje fought Tony Ferguson for the lightweight interim title. However, after winning the bout, he threw the belt aside and made it clear that he wanted to fight for the real title. Unfortunately, ‘The Highlight’ lost against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 254.

He returned with a bag at UFC 268 and solidified his spot at #2 in the rankings, with an incredible showing at Madison Square Garden.

However, Islam Makhachev, who is on a nine-fight streak, is looming large as a contender. He even has Khabib Nurmagomedov’s backing. Also, many feel that as ‘The Highlight’ already had his shot and lost badly, he should not get another opportunity so quickly.

Justin Gaethje did all that he could and his fans will hope that it is enough for him to fight the winner of the UFC 269 lightweight fight between Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira.
