“It’s Not Right” – Top AEW Superstar Unhappy With WWE Over Recent Releases

In an interesting turn of events, WWE shockingly released over a dozen superstars from their rosters, and some big names like Keith Lee, Karrion Kross, and Nia Jax took the hit. However, AEW superstar Bryan Danielson has mixed feelings about the recent WWE releases and the 90-day non-compete clause.

In a recent interview, Danielson confessed that there should be certain rules in WWE to whom they should give the non-compete clause and who they should not.

All the recently released superstars from WWE must serve a 90-day non-compete clause, so the released superstars cannot show up in other wrestling promotions before the clause expires.

Bryan Danielson believes WWE should go easy on released superstars

The former WWE champ appeared for an interview with Ariel Helwani for The MMA Hour, where Danielson shoots on the recent mass release from Vince McMahon’s company.

“In some ways, I get it. In some ways, I feel like it’s not right. It’s hard because my father-in-law [John Laurinaitis] is head of talent relations and he is the one who has to call them all. One of the things that I’ve always had a hard time with, and I’ve been fired from WWE twice, so I kind of get this; it’s one thing if somebody does something bad.”

Danielson also touched on the fact that when should a wrestler be charged with the 90 days non-compete clause and confessed that if the company is releasing the wrestlers because of ‘budget cuts’ then they should not charge them with the clause.

“If you’re under contract and you’re not happy with the company, if they can fire you and give you 90 days, you should be able to give them 90 days to be released from your contract. On the flip side, if they’re only firing you because of budget cuts when they’re profitable than ever, I just don’t think that’s right.” he said.

WWE has released plenty of superstars lately and always used the phrase ‘budget cuts’. However, despite citing this reason, the company has recorded a successful quarter for this year.
