Bomb squad called to hospital after reports of ‘explosion’
THE bomb squad has swooped on a hospital following reports of an “explosion”.
Patients and visitors attempting to enter the car park of Liverpool Women’s Hospital are being turned away.

Police were scrambled to the site at 11am as witnesses reported hearing a “loud bang and now dark smoke”.
Dramatic pictures show black smoke billowing over the hospital.
A photo of a car on fire in a car park has also been shared but it is not confirmed as being part of the same incident.
Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm that an incident occurred shortly after 11am today (Sunday 14 November) outside Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
“A cordon around the affected area has been established and a number of surrounding roads have been closed.
“Emergency services are currently at the scene assessing the situation.”
