Masahiro Sakurai’s latest acquisition
The director got his hands on Microsoft’s latest, most powerful Xbox console; it has long been established that Sakurai is a long-time fan of gaming consoles. And he added Xbox to his collection of consoles following the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 5. He took to Twitter to announce his recent acquisition of the Xbox Series X.

A loose translation, using google, of the Tweet is, “One year after its release, I finally bought it …! It may be affected by Corona, but it will continue to be difficult to obtain game consoles.” Xbox seemed obviously pleased with Sakurai’s purchase.
Hope you and Fukura have fun, Mr. Sakurai!

Xbox in Japan
The company has finally gained some recognition from the gaming community in Japan. Because of the addition of Game Pass alongside xCloud, the latest Series X|S has done incredibly well as compared to its predecessor.
In fact, the console has already surpassed the total sales the Xbox One has made during its life cycle. Since its release in July, the Series X|S has sold more than 100,000 units in Japan. To put things in perspective, 114,726 units of Xbox One were sold since its 7 and a half years on retail.
In fact, even Microsoft admitted that Japan has the highest growing console market in the world for Xbox.
Microsoft has been making waves in the community for all the right reasons and because of its strategies. Its strategies with the Game Pass have allowed players to play games they previously could not. This bodes quite well for Microsoft in the console war.
