The MTV Europe Music Awards 2021 will be getting underway tonight live from Budapest, Hungary with some of music’s biggest acts in attendance.
Rapper Saweetie will be doing the honours of hosting the EMAs 2021 at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna on Sunday evening, taking over from Little Mix who hosted the 2020 ceremony.
Teasing what to expect, the Best Friend rapper said in a statement: ‘Anything can happen at the MTV EMAs. Are you ready?’ before promising there will be ‘surprises’.
She added to E! News: ‘I think MTV is fun. It’s innovative, it’s out the box. And that’s the type of artist I am. So when I got the call to do it, it was a no brainer.’
This year sees the awards show return to live broadcasting after it took place virtually last year due to travel restrictions amid the pandemic.
