Ryan Reynolds proved he is the king of film promo after making a hilarious ‘appearance’ on Antiques Roadshow for his new Netflix movie, Red Notice.

The 45-year-old stars as the world’s greatest art thief Nolan Booth, who teams up with FBI’s top profiler John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) to hunt down the world’s most wanted art thief, the Bishop (Gal Gadot) in the flick.

So what better time to merge the two worlds as the Canadian actor delighted fans of the US version of the show with a playful clip on Monday.

He posted a snippet of ‘The Red Notice scene I wish I’d shot’ on Instagram in which he could be seen trying to sell a Cleopatra egg prop featured in the movie.

Sitting opposite host Lark Mason, the actor subtly revealed that the golden egg wasn’t an heirloom like most items usually are.

‘This is not a family heirloom – my family disowned me years ago. They don’t like me,’ he stated. ‘But this is more of an heirloom that my good friend at the museum lent me.’

Ryan then accidentally reveals that his ‘friend’ didn’t actually know they lent the egg to him.

Lark described the item as one of three eggs commissioned by Egyptian queen Cleopatra at the end of her life in 30 B.C..

The host explained that the two eggs were held in public collections and one went missing during Word War Two, before noting that ‘German soldiers had taken it to a secure hideaway. And there it remained up until recently.’

I was on #AntiquesRoadShow. I haven’t been this star struck since I got into an elevator with Johnny Cash back in ‘99. #RedNotice @RoadshowPBS @MaximumEffort pic.twitter.com/lmHGQ0XtzW

This was hilarious thanks for the laughs Ryan. Always been a fan of the Antiques Road Show. As a Canucks fan needed a smile on this Monday morning seeing as how management is still employed.

As Ryan began to squirm over the fact Lark had seen news about ‘handsome and very talented’ FBI agent discovering the item, the actor pushed for a valuation.

Lark put an end to Ryan’s anxiety by confirming its eye-watering value of over $100million (£74m).
