The Expensive Watch Collection of F1 Star Daniel Ricciardo Including a $2 Million Richard Mille!

In F1, even one-thousandth of a second can make a difference. So naturally, watches are a big element of F1. And it’s no surprise that drivers are seen with the best of the best when it comes to watches. But arguably, Daniel Ricciardo might just have the best watch collection of them all.

Daniel Ricciardo and other F1 driver’s watch collection was explored and valued by Nico Leonard, a popular watch expert who has a YouTube channel and a watch business.

Most impressively, the McLaren driver owns a Patek Phillipe Nautilus 5980. Patek is one of the most well-regarded and exclusive Swiss watch brands. This watch is made of rose gold and is powered by a self-winding movement with a chronograph and a date complication. Its market value is over $280,000.

Ricciardo also owns a Rolex Day-Date 228238 in a solid rose gold case and an olive green dial. This watch has a market value of over $70,000.

But the most expensive watch in Ricciardo’s collection is the one-off Richard Mille RM 67-02 in a Quartz TPT case. This watch, at 32 grams, is one of the lightest watches in the world and is valued at over $2 million.

Watches of other F1 drivers other than Daniel Ricciardo

Current championship leader Max Verstappen is usually seen in wearing Tag Heuer Monaco. This iconic model is synonymous with motorsports and racing, and it costs around $10,000.

His championship rival, Lewis Hamilton, wears an IWC Big Pilot with a perpetual calendar. This watch was made exclusively for Hamilton in titanium and ceramic. It could be valued at around $50,000. But since it was worn by Hamilton, it can easily fetch six figures in the market.

McLaren’s Lando Norris is also no stranger to expensive watches. He is often seen wearing a Richard Mille RM 11-03, a watch made of Quartz TPT, The watch has a split-second chronograph and it’s worth around $650,000.

Although earlier in 2021, Norris’ unique Richard Mille was stolen in a football game.

After attending the Euro 2020 Final at Wembley last night, Lando Norris was robbed while getting into his McLaren GT.

He was left “unharmed,” but his $100,000 custom Richard Mille watch was stolen.

For decades, the biggest watch brands have sponsored and revolutionized the art of timekeeping with F1. Just as F1 has driven the automobile industry to the very limits of cutting-edge technology time after time again, it has also driven horology to new heights of innovation as well.

Yet a watch is as much of a tool as it is a statement of luxury and a fashion accessory.

So, it’s no surprise that modern Formula One drivers and watch brands know how to juggle between the two worlds with ease (and a lot of money).
