You star Penn Badgley thinks Fox News has fooled the public after a clip of anchor Laura Ingraham and Raymond Arroyo’s hilarious interaction about the hit Netflix show went viral.

Viewers were left in stitches after a miscommunication between the pair saw their chat descend into utter chaos during a live segment on the news channel.

While presenting her conservative news talk show The Ingraham Angle, Laura was speaking to contributor Raymond when the subject of You came up.

However, the 58-year-old journalist had absolutely no idea what Raymond was talking about, mistakenly thinking that he was repeatedly referring to her when he was simply naming the show.

The topic of conversation came up when Raymond mentioned a storyline involving main character Joe Goldberg (Badgley), whose baby son catches measles from a family who have not been vaccinated and are against vaccinations.

In the end, Raymond gave up trying to make Laura realize what he was actually talking about, stating: ‘I can’t explain this to you.’

Most people thought the exchange was a brilliant but accidental blunder, but Penn hinted that it had all been scripted.

‘Definitely a bit. His delivery is great tho,’ the 35-year-old tweeted.

Meanwhile, actual comedians Andy Richter, Taran Killam and Jenny Johnson also claimed the entire moment was planned.

The clip of Laura and Raymond’s mishap has done the rounds on TikTok and Twitter, with one person tweeting: ‘This is hilarious and terrible at the same time.’

‘How is this real life?’ someone else asked, while another person remarked: ‘This is the funniest s**t I’ve seen in a minute.’

Some people who watched the clip compared it to Who’s On First?’ a comedy sketch made famous by duo Abbott and Costello where Abbott is naming players on a baseball team for Costello, but all of their names just sound like answers to Costello’s questions.

All three seasons of You are available to stream on Netflix.
