Lorraine Kelly made her disbelief clear at the upcoming Meghan Markle interview which will see the Duchess of Sussex sit down with talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres.

A teaser clip of the upcoming chat between the former actress and Ellen was released on Wednesday afternoon, which saw Meghan reminisce about her days of auditions.

However, with Meghan sure to go in on some more personal details of her life, such as her relationship with Prince Harry and their two young children Archie and Lilibet, many were surprised by the news she would be again talking so openly on-screen.

Speaking on her morning show just hours before the interview was set to air, Lorraine expressed her confusion regarding the chat to US entertainment reporter Ross King, who was on hand to give all the goss.

Lorraine began: ‘Now, I thought when Harry and Meghan spoke to Oprah for that interview – which was quite a shocking one – that, that would be it, that would be it.

‘I remember saying at the time, well they’ve said their piece but no, not at all – they are doing the rounds?’

Chuckling, Ross replied: ‘Absolutely! Ellen, now later today in about 10 hours from now she will be on the show and they will air the interview that was recorded this week.

‘There was a little sneak peek, of course, Ellen and Meghan, they’re neighbours in Montecito apparently, they’re friends as well.’

The showbiz guru went on to remind viewers of when Ellen previously showed her support publicly to Meghan back in 2019 after they were attacked for taking multiple private jets in a short time period, despite often chatting about the importance of the environment.

She wrote at the time: ‘Portia [de Rossi, Ellen’s wife] and I met Prince Harry and Meghan in England to talk about their work on wildlife conservation.

‘They were the most down-to-earth, compassionate people. Imagine being attacked for everything you do, when all you’re trying to do is make the world better.’

The interview between Meghan and Ellen will air later today (Thursday, November 19), in the US on Ellen’s self-titled show.

So far, two teasers from the interview have been released with Meghan talking about her struggles with a previous beloved car plus the fact Lilibet is already teething despite being just five months old.

Viewers will have to wait patiently until then to find out what else she will share about her life since becoming a Duchess and mother to her son and daughter, both of who she shares with Harry.

Meghan’s interview with Ellen will be released in full today and Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
