Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a surprise $20,000 (£15,000) to a charity for Black hair on The Ellen Show.

The Duchess Of Sussex, 40, joined Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday’s show where she shared a rare photo of her son Archie and participated in some hilarious games in front of unsuspecting vendors.

After opening up about her family life in LA, Ellen brought out guest Brittany Spark, who set up her own charity, A Twist Of Greatness, which braids kids’ hair to boost their confidence and self-esteem.

In a particularly touching moment, the host revealed the show had partnered with Tisbest, a philanthropist organisation, who had given the non-profit $20,000.

Without missing a beat, Ellen then went on to share that Meghan and Harry had matched that offer too, giving another $20,000.

‘As soon as Meghan heard about this, Meghan and Harry wanted to make sure your charity gets off on the right foot,’ she explained.

‘So they want to give Twist Of Greatness $20,000 as well.’

‘Oh my God,’ Brittany reacted. ‘Thank you so much!’

‘Thank you,’ Meghan replied. ‘Thank you for what you do.’

Viewers applauded the heartwarming moment and praised Meghan and Harry for having ‘hearts of gold’.

Elsewhere during her appearance on the programme, Meghan gave some insight into parenting both Archie, two, and Lili, who arrived in June.

She told chat Ellen that Archie ‘loves being a big brother’ before adding: ‘Someone told H (Harry) and I that when you have one kid it’s a hobby, and two children is parenting.

‘Suddenly we realised, “oh right”, everyone talks about what it’s like for the second child but no-one talks about the adjustment for the first child when the second one comes along.

‘I think they have that moment of, “oh, this is fun, oh, this is how it is now”.’

Meghan also revealed how son Archie dressed as a dinosaur for Halloween, while Lili was a ‘little skunk like Flower from Bambi’.

‘We wanted to do something fun for the kids and then the kids were just not into it at all.

‘Archie was a dinosaur for maybe five minutes. Not even five minutes.’

Ellen told how Harry persuaded Archie, two, to put his dinosaur costume on, saying: ‘Finally Harry talked him into putting the head on. But Lili was a skunk… it was so cute.’
