Usain Bolt Reveals He Once Took Michael Jordan’s Advice in Winning a Big Rivalry
Jamaica’s favorite, Usain Bolt, is widely regarded as the fastest man on earth, after setting a world record timing of 9.58 seconds in a 100-meter race. His blazing speed has amazed fans every time he stepped onto the track.
Being the only sprinter who won gold at three consecutive Olympics, Bolt is called the GOAT of the track and field.
Recently in an interview, the star athlete spoke about Michael Jordan’s documentary. Usain Bolt revealed how he was inspired by Michael Jordan’s superb mentality when dealing with rivals.
“It’s just the mind of champions”- Usain Bolt
Michael Jordan shared a story of him handling negativity through his documentary. In an interview, Bolt spoke of the documentary, calling their mentality “champion’s mindset.”

Bolt believes his way of dealing with negativity is similar to that of Jordan. He notes how when Jordan was once challenged, he responded calmly with composure and Bolt did exactly that when he faced something similar.
“In O8 when I won, I think then it was Tyson. Tyson Gay was injured that season and people are like ‘You know the only reason he won was that Tyson Gay wasn’t there blah blah blah,’” said Bolt.
Back then, Bolt remained silent and chose to answer his critics with his performance next year. He beat Tyson with his amazing swift moves the next year, proving everyone wrong.
“I beat him. I was like ‘What are you gonna say now? He’s fit, he ran his fastest time, I still beat him. So, that’s how I work and just I guess it’s just the mind of champions,” he added.
Clearly, the athlete lives for competition, and his strong mindset helped him deal with all the negativity around it.
Bolt learns to cook
The iconic sprinter is not just interested in sports, but loves music and cooking as well. Recently, he shared that he is learning to grill steaks and make kebabs.

“I’m just starting to learn how to grill and stuff because I have a good outside so sometimes at home and I mean my friends, we chill and yeah, we’ll grill up some chicken, you know I mean yeah, drink, some chicken,” said the 8-time Olympic champion.
Indeed, Bolt has a champions mentality. Through the same, with hard work and determination, he outdid himself throughout his career.
