The BBC’s annual charity event Children in Need is set to kick off this Friday – November 19 – on BBC One.

The event – which raises money for underprivileged and disadvantaged youths across the UK – sees a number of famous faces come together to inspire people to contribute to the charity.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has already raised £1million after completing a 24-hour danceathon, while BBC weatherman Owain Wyn Evans raised even more with his all-day drumathon.

A charity single is also a Children In Need tradition, and 2021 is no different.

Who is behind this year’s charity single, and who else has performed one before?

Niall Horan and Anne-Marie have been brought together to record this year’s single, which will be a cover of the 1987 Fleetwood Mac track ‘Everywhere.’

The single will be released on November 19, with an official music video airing during the live appeal show on BBC One.

Niall and Anne-Marie will not be alone on the record, as Ed Sheeran, Griff and Yungblud have also contributed to the single.

Speaking about the track, Niall expressed how the track represents this year’s theme, ‘Together We Can.’

‘Togetherness sits at the heart of BBC Children in Need, and that’s what this track is all about. I hope people enjoy it, but above all, I hope it lets anyone who might be struggling right now know that we are here for them.’

Anne-Marie also commented on the timeliness of the track: ‘As we have seen over the past eighteen months, amazing things happen when we come together to help make a difference, and that’s why I am so proud to be releasing this special track with Niall. I hope everyone loves it as much as we do.’

You can pre-order the track over on the Children in Need website.

You can listen for free on streaming services, but you can also purchase the track for 99p on the iTunes store. A minimum of 50p from each purchased download will go towards the charity.
