CME Group Tour Championship 2021: Breakdown of the Prize Money From Winner to Last-Place

The LPGA CME Group Tour Championship is here, and it is as exciting as it promised to be. Moreover, it is the last step for the LPGA Tour season, which only makes it a much more thrilling event. Notably, the competition will be taking place at the posh Tiburón Golf Club at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida.

For the last two years, South Korean golfers have won the CME Group Tour Championship. Jin Young Ko won last year, while Sei Young Kim won in 2019. Moreover, the venue has remained the same, but the prize money has increased from last year.

Prize increase for next year

Moreover, the prize money for the event in 2022 has been increased to $7 million. The winner will take home $2 million, while $40,000 will be the last amount a player will receive. “We could not be more grateful to CME Group, under the bold and visionary leadership of Group Chairman and CEO Terry Duffy, for helping provide the best female golfers in the world with the opportunity to live their dreams,” said Mollie Marcoux Samaan, LPGA Commissioner.

They added that this announcement will only boost the support of the LPGA, and further attract more female golfers to the tournament and the sport in general.

With the total purse being $5 million, the winner bags $1,500,000. Of course, like most Tour events, winning the CME Group Tour Championship also comes with other perks. This includes a two-year LPGA Tour exemption, and berths in other important events as well.
