Dennis Rodman on Wearing “Female” Clothing: “I used to dress like this as kid. Wearing a dress made me feel good.”
Whether it’s Russell Westbrook, Kyle Kuzma, or LaMelo Ball, who keep competing for being the fashion icon in the world of NBA, but nobody comes close to Dennis Rodman. Rodman wasn’t just known for his defensive prowess and rebounding skills, but his unique dressing sense. At the time, it might have been somewhat controversial and not accepted with open arms, but the man truly knew style.
However. not many people would know that his choice of dressing stemmed from his younger years and not something that he picked off from his years of partying in the later years of his life as an NBA player.
Dennis Rodman began cross-dressing way before anybody knew

The party animal inside of Rodman often came out even when he was playing for the Chicago Bulls in the 90s and helping them create their iconic legacy. From dating Madonna and Carmen Electra, he might be a ladies’ man but also liked dressing up as a woman. Cross-dressing at that time was a bold move. Not everyone had the guts to display their choice of life the way Dennis did.
However, it was something that he knew he liked doing ever since he was a kid. In his most recent interview with GQ, the 60-year-old gave insights into when he started embracing this side of his flamboyant personality.
“We all had fun at the time, but that didn’t inspire me when I got older,” he started off. “I guess it kind of made me have a sense of awareness of, like, man, I used to dress like this as a kid. Wearing a dress made me feel good. You know?”

‘Bad as I Wanna Be’, is the memoir that Rodman released back in 1996. These small details about his younger days are something he emphasized in it. However, nothing beats him dressing up in a white wedding dress back in 96.
He even admitted that this custom-made dress was so that he could marry himself. And when he donned it at his book signing, people all over New York City dropped by to see him in it and get the signed copy of his book.
Nothing that Dennis did off the court, the Bulls organization had a problem with. They knew that they had to accept him completely for who he was to be able to get the best out of him. And it’s safe to say, they succeeded.
