Former WWE Champion Acknowledges Roman Reigns as His ‘Tribal Chief’

Roman Reigns entirely changed his character after turning heel. If you see his character four years ago compared to where he is today, the evolution of the Tribal Chief has been beautiful to witness.

Jeff Hardy is another wrestler whose evolution was witnessed firsthand by the fans. From Willow to Brother Nero, Hardy has always gone all out with his characters. Hardy is well respected amongst his peers as well. So, to get a stamp of approval from a legend like him is a noteworthy compliment.

In an interview with BT Sport, Jeff discussed the match between Big-E and Reigns, which will occur at Survivor Series. The interviewer asked Hardy about his first WWE Championship win and wondered if he felt any moment was more prominent than winning the championship itself.

Hardy said, “I think the reaction alone. Like so many, everybody believed in me, and the fans were with me the entire way leading up to the finals moments when I got my hands on [WWE Championship].”

Hardy won the WWE Championship for the first time against Triple-H and the Edge at Armageddon in 2008. He lost the championship to Edge after interference from Jeff’s brother, Matt Hardy, at Royal Rumble.
