Here’s How ‘Man in the Arena’ Reflects Upon the Similarities Between 2001 Tom Brady and 2021 Mac Jones

Tom Brady had his first episode of the documentary ‘Man in the Arena’ released on November 16 and the similarities between him in 2001 and Mac Jones are something we cannot overlook.

During his first start against Indianapolis Colts in 2001, he stunned the Peyton Manning led offense as the Patriots won 44-13. After the game, Brady was all praises for the defense.

“Our defense really dominated the day,” Brady said. As he completed just 13 passes for 168 yards and did not throw a single touchdown pass. “On offense, we had to recognize what we had,” Brady further explained. “Bill always used a line, ‘You can’t win until you can keep from losing.’”

“That was a good lesson for us,” said Brady. “If we could keep from losing, I think our defense was going to keep us in every game.”

“We just kind of scrapped together these wins,” Brady said of the team’s turnaround.

Judging by the Patriots’ current trajectory with the rookie quarterback Mac Jones, the Belichick formula of “You can’t win until you can keep from losing,” holds its grounds just as firmly.

Mac Jones following his huge turnaround late this season has gained him umpteen recognition among the NFL analysts. He has also tempted many to think of him as a reincarnation of the 2001 Tom Brady.

The release of Tom Brady’s ‘Man in the Arena’ has been at the time when Mac Jones has been gaining a lot of appreciation and comparison with the NFL icon.

Mac Jones’ playmaking capabilities and leadership towards the Patriots have been very compelling for the head coach Bill Belichick, as he is on his way to creating yet another NFL GOAT just like Tom Brady.
