WATCH: Cleveland Crowd Hostile Towards Stephen Curry Even After MVP Level Performance

The Golden State Warriors entered their matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers as the obvious favorites to win. Who wouldn’t place their bets on a team with the best record in the league right now? But the Dubs had scared everyone for almost three quarters while playing the Cavs. They were struggling to get threes in and grab rebounds, but Stephen Curry pulled off another miracle to get them out of that rut.

He went completely out of control in the fourth quarter, taking the onus entirely on himself to drag them to a victory. In fact, any other audience witnessing his monumental performance would have been in complete awe of him, but the fans sitting in this arena couldn’t be more discouraging.

Fans express bitterness against Steph’s performance

love the Cleveland crowd being completely apathetic after every Steph 3. most other arenas would be going nuts during an eruption like this, but it’s nothing they haven’t seen before. strong “i thought we were done with this shit” vibes. pic.twitter.com/MEt93rOqUz

It was as if Steph had refused to end up on the losing end of the match. Out of his total of 40 points, he scored 20 of them in the fourth quarter, helping the Dubs go on a 17-0 run that helped put Cleveland away. The Warriors, who were trailing by 13 points by the starting of the final quarter but ended with a 104-89 victory instead.

Curry was absolutely heroic from the three-pointer. He was 9-16 from the distance, while the rest of the team was 6-27 in total. Seeing this, the fans in the arena should have been cheering for Steph, the way they did when he went to play against the Brooklyn Nets at Staples Center. But that was hardly the case. One could hear screams of displeasure as he continued to rain threes from the arc.

Of course, the MVP candidate for the 2021-22 campaign had some help as well. Draymond Green worked his magic by finishing the night with 14 assists. Whereas, Nemanja Bjelica had 14 points, along with Andrew Wiggins’ 12 points and Damion Lee’s 11.

Unfortunately, Jordan Poole had a slow night, but clearly, Steph had it all handled. This win helped them improve their record even further and now stands at 13-2.

What the future holds for the Golden State Warriors is an enigma, but what we do know is that this won’t be the last incredible performance we will see by Curry. So, buckle up as he continues to take us for a ride.
