Ahead of Liverpool vs Arsenal, Casper Ruud Hails Mohamed Salah as the Best Player in the World

The Norwegian professional player, Casper Ruud’s scintillating season continues. Capturing five ATP titles, and entering the top 10 rankings is truly remarkable. Debuting in the 2021 Nitto ATP Finals, the Norwegian has emphatically reached the semi-finals of the competition.

Just recently, in an interview, Ruud talked about his favorite football team. The world No. 8 also recalled a moment when he first played a tennis match on the grass on British soil. Furthermore, he regards Mo Salah as the best footballer in the world. Ruud has talked about these things just ahead of the blockbuster encounter between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield.

Casper Ruud’s support for Liverpool

Casper Ruud has had one of the best ATP seasons of his professional career. Moreover, he has now entered the semi-finals of the 2021 ATP Finals in Turin. At a recent interview, Ruud extended his support for Liverpool Football Club and also cherished a notable moment.

Talking about a unique experience, Casper Ruud said ” When I was 10 years old I went to Liverpool to play a junior tournament with a Norwegian guy who arranged it to play against other British players on grass. It was the first time I ever played on grass.”

“Then he took us to the stadium. I bought the jersey of @Torres when he played in the team many years ago now. From then it’s just been natural for me to support them,” he added.

From 2007 to 2011, the Spanish footballer, Fernando Torres played for Liverpool Football Club. Torres was one of the key players of the club back then. However, Fernando Torres announced his retirement in 2019.

Ruud considers Mo Salah as the current best player

Moreover, the Norwegian also talked appreciated the management of Jurgen Klopp for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is the manager of Liverpool since 2015. In his words, he quoted, ” Before Klopp arrived, there were some tough years. Since the arrival of Klopp, he has turned things around and it’s fun years to be a Liverpool supporter.

When asked to speak on the current best footballer, Ruud commented, ” If you ask me, I think the last month or two maybe @MoSalah has been the best player in the world, yes.” Mohamed Salah is a prominent striker playing for Liverpool since 2017.
