Antonio Brown Caught Up in Brand New Scandal; Will He Play Against Indianapolis Colts?

Antonio Brown is more than just a controversial figure in the NFL world. Aside from being one of the most talked about people in the league, he lets his talents speak for themselves. He’s insanely talented, but his issues off the field often catch up to him. Now, the wide receiver has gotten caught up in a huge scandal.

Partners in crime

On Thursday, the Times reported that Antonio Brown and his girlfriend, Cydney Moreau, contacted Steven Ruiz for fake certificates. Ruiz is a chef who used to work for Brown. He claims Brown reached out to him over the summer for the fake cards. Ruiz said that Antonio wanted a card that said he got his shot at Johnson and Johnson. Ruiz provided a text message to the times. The message was from Moreau. It said that Moreau was offering $500 for the forged certificates.

The former chef claims he could not get his hands on any fake certificates for the couple. He said that a few weeks later, Antonio Brown and his girlfriend have managed to purchase them.

Antonio Brown has been accused of obtaining a fake COVID-19 vaccination card, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Following the report, the Bucs released a statement saying “no irregularities were observed” when team personnel reviewed vaccination cards. https://t.co/5wxptnYdFW

The Buccaneers have also provided the vaccination for all its staff and team members. But Brown did not want to get vaccinated during that time because of the possible side effects. He may get a shot at a later date.

It is very important for Brown to get vaccinated because he has been tested positive for COVID-19 before. He missed the Week 3 game against the Los Angeles Rams because of it.

What would happen if Antonio Brown really has a fake certificate?

The NFL is going to look into the matter soon. If Antonio Brown really has a fake COVID-19 certificate, the Buccaneers will be responsible for not verifying it. If there is a forgery, then Brown Would be subject to discipline under the personal conduct policy.

Making a fake COVID-19 vaccination card is also a federal offense that could cause actual jail time. It is not likely, but if there is enough evidence, then the wide receiver could get into trouble with the federal government as well.

Brown was set to play for the defending Super Bowl champions on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. But if Brown is guilty of forgery, he won’t be stepping on the field for a while.

Antonio Brown has denied the accusations. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also claim that there have been no irregularities with their vaccination verification procedure. We will find out what the truth is once the league digs into it.
